Afterschool Activities Partnership (ASAP)

Afterschool Activities Partnership (ASAP) expands the traditional scope of afterschool activities by providing curriculum, training and volunteer support for clubs and cross-site opportunities around Philadelphia, including the Philadelphia Youth Chess Challenge, Scholastic Debate League, Philly Plays Scrabble, Drama, and the After School Directory. Through partnerships and program activities, ASAP cultivates communities of youth for whom extracurricular passions are a gateway to improved school performance and postsecondary success.

Artwell

Artwell provides arts education and creative reflection that supports young people in discovering their strengths, facing complex challenges and awakening dreams. Artwell’s Art of Growing Leaders program introduces ten- to fourteen-year-olds to multicultural rites of passage and fosters creative leadership skills, building on the unique strengths in each youth to benefit their communities.

Boys' Latin is a single-gender college preparatory school. Extended day activities provide additional reading, math and extracurricular programming for 375 twelve- to fourteen-year-olds.

Friends of Chester A. Arthur School

Friends of Chester A. Arthur School (FoCA) supports its namesake K–8 public school, located in Southwest Center City. FoCA serves as fiscal agent for the school, supporting initiatives including the launch of a menu of afterschool activities for middle school students. Program offerings include three STEM clubs, a theater program and Playworks, which trains middle school peer leaders to help with recess activities that build social-emotional skills.

iPraxis

iPraxis increases student interest in and exposure to STEM disciplines by bringing individuals with a STEM background (students, professionals, retirees, professors, and others) into schools to work with students on science fair projects, lead after-chool clubs, give presentations and simply make science fun and meaningful. iPraxis continues to expand volunteer recruitment, training and support in order to work with more students and partner schools throughout the city.
