  • 1/6

    Inquiry

The organization submits an inquiry to the foundation via the form located here. A foundation representative reviews the inquiry and responds directly to the contact person. NOTE: E-mail inquiries will not be accepted.

  • 2/6

    Discovery

The foundation initiates a phone conversation to learn more about the organization, its relevant programming, and its internal strengths and weaknesses.

  • 3/6

    Observation

If the organization and program align with our priority areas, a foundation representative visits, observes current program activities, and determines whether an invitation to submit a proposal will be issued.

  • 4/6

    Co-Creation

If invited to proceed to this stage, the organization is asked to draft an investment proposal and project plan.

  • 5/6

    Board Review

The Lenfest Board of Directors reviews proposals.

  • 6/6

    Grant Award

A decision is communicated within two days of the Board meeting. The Foundation then finalizes a detailed grant agreement that includes performance metrics and a reporting schedule.
